Flights between Istanbul, Syria's Aleppo continue after 13 years
Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said Turkish Airlines has begun operating flights on the Istanbul-Aleppo route three times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The frequency will increase to five flights per week starting August 15, and daily flights will commence from September 1.
Additionally, AJet, a budget airline, will launch its first flight on the Sabiha Gokcen-Aleppo route this Saturday. Daily service on that route will begin on August 4.
With Aleppo added to its Syrian destinations, Turkish Airlines now flies to both Aleppo and Damascus, the latter of which was reintroduced in January.
Turkish Airlines is offering promotional fares starting at $299 for round-trip tickets on the Istanbul-Aleppo route, available for purchase via the airline's official website as of July 25, 2025. Prices may differ when booked through other sales channels.
