Israel makes new violation of Syria’s sovereignty
There has been no immediate reaction from either the Israeli military or Syrian authorities regarding the incursion. Damascus has consistently condemned such violations and reaffirmed its commitment to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Since December 2024, Israeli forces have reportedly carried out over 1,000 airstrikes in Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids in the southern provinces. Following the collapse of the Assad regime later that year, Israel expanded its control over the Golan Heights by occupying the demilitarized buffer zone, actions that contravene the 1974 agreement with Syria.
